ICL

The ICL (Implantable Contact Lens) is an ideal refractive error solution for anyone who has the need or desire for the removal of power with high-quality vision correction. ICL is a type of lens which is implanted into the eye and does not require frequent removal like a normal contact lens. This procedure has numerous advantages including its correction of the widest range of myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism (cylindrical power).

The procedure of ICL involves permanently inserting a soft contact lens in front of the natural lens of the eye through a very small incision. Like LASIK, the procedure is minute, taking only 5-10 minutes. The lens is customized according to the individual’s eye’s shape and size

This new technique is similar to cataract surgery, but the natural lens stays in place, preserving the eye’s natural focusing ability.

An implantable contact lens is beneficial because it becomes a permanent fixture of the eye, avoiding time-consuming maintenance.
